Abstract
This article analyzes the art that was produced after one of the worst massacres that Colombia has experienced throughout its history, El Salado massacre, committed in the Villa del Rosario-El Salado village, located in the municipality Carmen de Bolívar, in the south of the department of Bolívar. Between February 18 and 21, 2000, this district was taken over by the United Self-Defense Forces of Colombia (AUC, initials in Spanish), apparently with the support of the region’s public forces. Beyond the fact that, like this one, there were many massacres that have been committed throughout our territory, without a doubt, the one perpetrated in El Salado is of great importance in the history of violence in our country and, for this reason, this case is taken to recognize the key points when it comes to addressing the way in which, through art, individuals react and fight against impunity.
