Actions to improve accessibility for people with disabilities in the Capri - Victoria Hotel Complex

Resumen

El sector turístico se ha convertido en uno de los pilares económicos más destacados y de mayor crecimiento a nivel mundial. Todas las personas, incluyendo aquellas con discapacidad, tienen el derecho de acceder al turismo, tal como ha sido establecido por la Organización de las Naciones Unidas para el Turismo. El objetivo de la presente investigación consiste en evaluar la accesibilidad y proponer acciones que permitan brindar una mejor atención a las personas en situación de discapacidad en el complejo hotelero Capri Victoria, que forma parte del grupo Gran Caribe. Se emplearon métodos mixtos tanto teóricos como empíricos. Entre ellos, se incluyó la observación no participante y la revisión bibliográfica. Se realizaron entrevistas a empleados y clientes de la instalación. Las acciones propuestas se dividen en varias etapas, considerando su nivel de complejidad. La implementación de estas acciones resulta de vital importancia para que el hotel pueda mejorar sus condiciones y brindar una atención adecuada a las personas en situación de discapacidad. El cumplimiento de estas acciones requerirá un esfuerzo constante y continuo. Estas son fundamentales para que el complejo hotelero pueda adecuarse y ofrecer un entorno más inclusivo y accesible a las personas con discapacidad.
