Abstract

Based on the news published by the Mayor’s Office of Bogotá (Alcaldía Ma­yor de Bogotá) during the governments of Enrique Peñalosa (2012-2015) and (2016-2019), it was inquired about the behavior of each administration with respect to the health crisis that the Mochuelo neighborhood population is experiencing, caused by its proximity to the Doña Juana landfill (Relleno Sanitario Doña Juana). Likewise, a comparative exercise was carried out be­tween two specific events of the crisis, to determine the relevance given to the health and social problems of the population. It should be noted that, at the center of this investigative framework, it is understood that the exercise of writing and publishing the news by the Mayor’s Office of Bogotá is like that of a public or private media.
